Jalapeño Popper Grilled Cheese Sandwich

I honestly can’t even put into words how in love I am with this here sandwich. It is absolutely amazingheaven on sourdough breadAs I was browsing for ways to make my Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers, I found this recipe on Closet Cooking and instantly knew that I had to try it.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons cream cheese, room temp

1 tablespoon of butter or margarine, room temp

2 slices of sourdough bread (or your bread of choice)

1 – 2 jalapeño peppers, cut in half lengthwise and seeded

1/2 cup shredded cheddar & jack cheese (I used fat free cheddar)

Directions

* Grill or broil the peppers, face down for about 10-12 minutes or until the skin is blackened

* Place the peppers in a sealed zip lock bag and let them cool 15 minutes

* Remove peppers from the bag and peel off the skin (should come off very easily)

* Lightly toast your bread

* Butter the outside and cream cheese the inside of each slice

* Layer your sandwich as follows: toast – cheddar – jalapeños – cheddar – toast

* Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat

* Add sandwich & cook 3-4 minutes per side or until cheese is melted & toast is golden brown

Enjoy now and thank me later 😉

    Looks really good! I just got turned onto grilled cheese with jalapeño peppers at the restaurant in my building "701 Restaurant". It also has pickles and is made on brioche bread.
