Hey there! I can't believe it's Wednesday already. Gotta love long weekends. Did you enjoy your holiday?

* Don't I look hot in this picture? It's a few weeks old and I'm not quite sure why I decided to use it today. Plus, I clearly had on the wrong pair of shoes with my extra long pants. Please don't judge this outfit ;-)
* I'm pretty sure the lady at Subway thinks I have a problem. I have eaten there at least once a week for the past month. She should really know my order by now.
* I've decided...I'm over my hair
* Downsizing for the sake of comfort - sometimes it has to be done.
* Missing the Vintage Indiana Wine Fest when I'll be in Indy!! You have no idea how tragic this is for me :-(

* Tomorrow is my Friday!!! Going back home to Indy for another wedding and a graduation...woo-hoo ;-)

* Our landlord being such an awesome sport about us moving out so soon. He even said he'd give us the deposit back...SCORE!! 

* Finding out our old place is still available. We could very well end up moving back there. I'd much rather be in a smaller place with no problems than a larger place with problems out the yin-yang! 

* Getting my eyebrows threading this weekend for the first time in a good month. I've been looking like a wolf for far too long. 

* Did I mention that tomorrow is my Friday?? Yep, I'm excited!

Sunday is for Mexican

I'm pretty sure my city has an unspoken rule that involves eating at the Mexican restaurant on Sundays. You would not believe how packed that place is every week after church. So today, me & the hubs decided to join in the tradition and get our grub on! Can I just say best meal ever - no wonder they stay crowded. Now I'm laying in bed with the itis...go figure! 

Anyway, I just wanted to share this little ensemble I wore to church.  I had to pull out the old trusty cardigan because they keep the air on full blast!! Out of my maxi collection, this is probably one of my favorites. The polyester material keeps me cool and comfortable!

Well, I'm off to take a nap so I can enjoy the rest of my holiday weekend. I sure hope that you are doing the same! What are some of your Sunday traditions? I'd love to hear about them ;-)

* I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today and now feel like Negative Nancy :-/
* Taking a 3 hour nap after work only to find myself wide awake at 2am = no bueno

* Hubby comes back home from his business trip tomorrow...YAY!!! (Being here w/o him is NO fun)
* Kiwis and green grapes packed in my lunch today. Call me a dork but that makes me excited!
* Talking to my deceased Papa yesterday for his 82nd Birthday. It just felt like he was listening ;-)
* 3 day weekend!!!!!

Manicure Mondays - Highlighter Green

Hey there! It's Monday already, so you know what that means. Let's just say that I'd rather still be in the bed right about now. Is it too early for me to countdown the hours until 5p?! How's your Monday going? 

NYC 298 High Line Green

For this week's No-Chip Manicure, I wanted to continue on my theme of bright colors with the prettiest shade of green. Doesn't it make you think of a highlighter? I love it and the smooth application of this polish made things even better! The original plan was to do my first tape manicure with this color but I'm sad to say that it turned out nothing like I though it would. So glad I decided to take this pictures before the tape disaster went down!! Guess I'll give it another try next week.

Southern Hospitality

Happy Friday Friends! Hope you're as excited for the weekend as I am. I have a nice little to-do list that I can't wait to conquer. Anyway, I'm sure you've heard the saying "Southern Hospitality" before, right? It doesn't matter if you live in the south, visited the south or have that one relative that grew up in the south - you're probably familiar. Let's talk about that.

You see this wonderful looking piece of cake...it came from my neighbor. Out of the blue, she brought it over to me and the hubby yesterday. She said that she made it earlier and wanted us to have a piece. We were in shock - that's never happened to either of us before. I mean you see on TV all the time but you never think it actually happens. Well I'm here to tell you that it does..."Southern Hospitality" really exists (especially in smaller towns). Since moving to Tennessee, it's almost unbelievable how sweet and welcoming people can be. It truly amazes me! 

So it got me thinking a bit. When was the last time I went out of my way to be nice to someone? What if everybody were this kind? How different would the world be today? It doesn't have to only happen in the south...we can do this anywhere! My challenge for the weekend is to do something nice for a stranger. It doesn't even have to be spectacular, sometimes it's the little things that count. I challenge you to do the same...you never know what type of affect it will have on a person.

This week for my No-Chip Manicure, I decided to do something bright and different. I'm such a novice at nail designs but my goal is to branch out and experiment more in the future...spice things up a bit! I am very excited to say that I finally found a yellow polish that I love, the color is just right. In my opinion, the hot pink worked best as an accent. The color is amazing on my toes but doing a bit much on my nails, lol.

 This is my business casual look for the day. In my opinion, a crisp button up with a set of pearls can spruce up almost any pair of jeans. Top the look off with cute flats and you're good to go...instant professional ;-)

Although pearls are my birthstone, I've never really been fond of them until recently. This necklace/earring set was a gift from my mother (the ultimate pearl lover) and now I can honestly say that I'm a fan! They're truly a must have for every woman. Do you have any in your collection?

Manicure Mondays - Cayenne

Hey Loves!! Seems like it's been forever...probably because it has. Hubby & I took another road trip over the weekend because I had to sing at a wedding. As you can probably imagine, I was crazy busy the entire time! As a result, I'm extremely exhausted today. Enough about me, how was your weekend?

Revlon ColorStay 150 Cayenne

Today's No-Chip Manicure started off with a new color from the Revlon ColorStay line. Believe it or not, I wore this all weekend even after coming to the conclusion that I wasn't a fan - just couldn't find the time to change it. 

Wet n' Wild 460D Kaleidoscope 

So this morning as I was trying to decide on a new color, it dawned on me that all it really needed was some sparkle. Making that small change, made a world of difference! Doesn't it look much better?? Worked like a charm ;-)

Spinach & Feta Turkey Burgers

Guess what...it's May!! This means we're one month closer to my birthday (yay), summertime, laying poolside, backyard barbecues and much more. I'm a summer baby, can't you tell?! Anyway, I thought these burgers would be the perfect way to kick things off! 

Ingredients

1-1.5lb Ground White Turkey

4 oz Feta Cheese

2-3 cups of Fresh Spinach

Black Pepper, Season Salt, Onion & Garlic Powder (or whatever seasons you prefer)

Directions

*Preheat grill/skillet to medium heat
*Mix all ingredients together in a bowl
*Grill or cook burgers for 7-10 minutes each side
*Once finished, serve with the garnish of your choice

I'm telling you, these burgers are fantastic! Even better with a side of  Sweet Potato Wedges! Enjoy ;-)
