Manicure Mondays - Grapevine

Happy Monday!

 Wet n' Wild 435G Sparked

Wet n' Wild 208A Through The Grapevine

Today's No-Chip Manicure is nothing new. Well, the color is but not so much the design. I love doing  the rockstar accent on my ring finger (if you haven't noticed already). Guess you could say I'm a creature of habit. Hey, if it ain't broke don't fix it!! I wasn't expecting much from the megalast polish but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a smooth and easy application with no fuss. Two coats of this shade turned out to be perfect. I may be purchasing a few more colors from this line in the near future.

Hope today has been good to you ;-)

Words of Wisdom

TGIF Loves!! I have been waiting on this day like Christmas. Besides the fact that it's been a long week, I'm really looking forward to this weekend's road trip to visit the family. It's time for some  relaxation.

I don't really have much to discuss today, but I thought it would be a good time to share this quote. I completely agree with it! Do you?

Enjoy your weekend ;-)

Weird & Wonderful Wednesday

Happy Hump Day! I wonder about the origin of "hump day" - I should Google that. Anyway, last year I did a Weird & Wonderful Wednesday post and for some reason I decided to bring it back today. Maybe it'll stick around this time, maybe it won't...guess you'll just have to wait and see.

 White Tank : Forever 21 ~ Pink Tank : H&M

Weird

* I have been unusually exhausted these days and it's starting to piss me off.
* The move is still going. This is what happens when you have "time". You trick yourself into thinking that you don't have to move everything all at once, which ends up taking twice as long to get the job done.
* I have not gone running or been to the gym in a good week, perhaps longer.
* On top of not working out, I'm pretty sure I've eaten at every single fast food place in this town at least once within the last week.
* My face looks and feels plump :-(

Maxi : Express ~ Flats : Bakers

Wonderful

* After 3 days of sleeping on the floor, I was reunited with my pillow top mattress last night. To say that I love my bed is an understatement.
* I got mail yesterday. Three new skirts to play dress up in this spring/summer...YAY!
* Road trip this weekend to visit the hub's family in 'Bama. We haven't seen them in months & I'm excited.
* The cable & internet got turned on at the new place today *jumps up and down* (life without it is no fun).
* My readers, viewers, followers & friends (that would be you) are freaking awesome!! Thank you for caring about the ins and outs of my simple life, it means more than you know ;-)

So, what's weird & wonderful about your life this week? I'd love to hear about it!

Manicure Mondays - For Audrey

Hey there! It's Monday and I'm super tired. We moved over the weekend, so I guess I'm still recovering. For the most part I feel like blah blah blah, but at least my No-Chip Manicure looks good!

China Glaze 77053 For Audrey

Isn't this the prettiest color ever?! I picked it up on sale last week at Sally's and could not wait to wear it. Given the name, I figured it would be a similar shade of Tiffany Blue. Little did I know it was much more than that, it was an exact match!! How neat ;-)

Before you ask -  yes, I just so happened to have a Tiffany & Co. Gift Card in my wallet. I know...very random.

At any rate, what do you think?

Jean Jacket Love

Hey friends, Happy Friday!! We made it to the end of another workweek, YAY ;-)

Jacket : Aeropostale via Goodwill ~ Dress: Target

Sandals : Bakers ~ Hair : La Jay

Can I get a round of applause for my jean jacket?? No, seriously! This was a random Goodwill find from a year ago that I completely forgot about. Then one day I went looking for something in my trunk & there it was...waiting patiently for me! Although everything about this jacket takes me back to my younger days, I love how it's a classic piece that never really goes out of style. The fact that it was less than $10 is an added bonus!

When was the last time you found a hidden gem in your trunk closet??

Be good. Enjoy the weekend!

BLT Deviled Eggs

Last week I had to bring a dish to work for our monthly pitch in. It was barbecue style and I had no clue what I was going to make until I opened my beloved Pinterest app. Don't you just love Pinterest?! It's probably my biggest source of cooking inspiration these days. Anyway, I adapted the original recipe from Kraft.

Ingredients

18 Hard Boiled Eggs
1/2 cup Kraft Mayo with Olive Oil
1/4 cup Ranch
6 slices of Bacon, cooked
1 tbsp Worcestershire
1 tsp Mustard
Around 25 Cherry Tomatoes
Cayenne for seasoning
Shredded Romaine Lettuce (for garnish)

Directions

* Cut eggs in half, lengthwise
* Add yolks to a bowl and mash
* Chop half the tomatoes and thinly slice the other half
* Combine mayo, ranch, worcestershire, chopped tomatoes and cayenne with the yolks
* Crumble 3-4 slices of bacon into the mixture
* Fill egg whites with yolk mix
* Top with shredded romaine, bacon crumbles and tomato slices
* Serve & Enjoy

As my first time making deviled eggs, I have to say that I wasn't a big fan of these. Everyone else seemed to love them though.

If you decide to make these, let me know what you think!

Manicure Mondays - Ice Queen Sapphire

Hello there beautiful people! How was your weekend? Mine was extremely laid back ;-) Too bad it had to come to an end :-( For this week's No-Chip Manicure, I actually did my nails twice. The first time around was an attempt at the popular half-moon look that turned out to be a complete fail...bad choice of colors.

Sally Hansen 720 Sturdy Sapphire

Sally Hansen 840 Ice Queen

The second time around was a success!! I stuck with familiar territory and picked the perfect color combination! You can never go wrong with a little glitter right?!  What do you think?

Enjoy your Monday ;-)

Casual Friday

Hey there, it's Friday...let's all go out and celebrate!! I love that TGIF feeling you get when you work a full time gig. Man, I've missed it! When you're a  housewife, everyday starts to feel like Friday and eventually the magic just disappears.

Sweater : Target ~ Shirt : Miley Max Azria ~ Belt : Gap

This is my "Casual Friday" look. My office is very laid back on a regular basis which tends to make me feel overdressed, so I could easily sport this look on any day of the week but you get my point. Of course wearing a belt around the waist is my signature style. In my opinion, it's the one thing that can take a basic outfit up a couple notches ;-)

Jeans : Wally World ~ Chucks : Shoe Carnival ~ Accessories : F21

I'm so looking forward to relaxing this weekend. Well, semi-relaxing because I do have to tackle this hair of mine (HUGE TASK). What are your plans for the weekend? Anything exciting??

Thursday Thoughts & Fuchsia Earrings

Hey loves, Happy Thursday! It's one day closer to the weekend...woo-hoo ;-)

WARNING: This post contains an outfit of the day with a side of randomness.

* For starters, this whole working full time situation is really throwing a wrench in my posting schedule. I can't seem to stay consistent. Perhaps I should invest in an editorial calendar.
(Question for my fellow bloggers - Do you use one? Is it helpful?)

Sweater : Burlington

* I'm not a fan of small talk, mainly because I'm no good at it. Today's lunch was spent listening to conversations of golf and politics...I just sat there.

* My hubby is leaving me tomorrow to go to Houston for the day. It makes me sad :-(

Jeans : Charlotte Russe

* You know what, this whole list is very reminiscent of the myspace blogging days. Oh how things change.

Flats : R2 via Famous Footwear

* I may be getting better at these self portraits but I still prefer my photographer...it's way more fun with him!

* Fact: I almost got attacked by dogs during my run yesterday. Thankfully, I didn't but boy was I praying!!

* The weather is plum crazy. It was 32 degrees this morning and for some strange reason I had the urge to go out and take these picture. Don't believe me?? Here's the proof...

* Aren't these earrings adorable? They've quickly become a favorite.

Earrings : Toni Daley

Alright, I think that's enough for now. Hope you're enjoying the day ;-)

Manicure Mondays - In The Nude

Happy Monday! I hope you had a fantastic Easter weekend. For this week's No-Chip Manicure, I decided to switch things up a bit and go with a nice nude look.

Sally Hansen 4137-02 Pick a Nude

Although I love the color, I do not love the application of this polish. It seems like I can never get it right...it's either too sheer or too thick, or not smooth enough. User error perhaps?!

Sally Hansen 300 Rock Candy

If there happens to be a next time, I'll definitely pair this shade with more colorful sparkles. Rock Candy wasn't quite enough. Do you like to wear nude on your nails? What are your favorites?

Good Friday Favorites

Happy Good Friday!! My boss was gracious enough to give everyone the day off, so I'm currently writing this post from the comfort of my bed! Anyway, I thought it'd be a great time to introduce you to my absolute favorite colors: black & purple. For as long as I can remember, these two have been in my life. I'm telling you, we go way back. It's amazing how they always seem to find their way into my wardrobe.
More of the black than anything, but who's keeping tabs...

Lace Top : Lush ~ Tank : H&M

Earrings : Forever 21 ~ Hair : La Jay

Pants : H&M

What colors tend to show up the most in your closet?

Spaghetti Squash & Six Cheese Tomato Sauce

Happy Hump Day!! Let me tell you guys about this meal I whipped up last night. I honestly didn't even plan on cooking, it kind of just happened. I've been hearing about people using spaghetti squash as a noodle substitute but never actually tried it. For whatever reason, I couldn't stop thinking about it yesterday. So after work I decided to go pick one up and give it a try. I threw a few ingredients together and surprisingly it came together nicely! *Recipe makes 2-3 servings*

Ingredients

Olive Oil
1 Spaghetti Squash (2-3lbs)
1 cup Mushrooms, chopped
2 cloves of Garlic, mined
10 Cherry Tomatoes, sliced in half
1.5 cups Ragu Six Cheese Tomato Sauce
Seasoning of your choice (I used oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder & pepper)

Directions

* Preheat your oven to 375 degrees
* Cut your squash in half, lengthwise and scoop out all the seeds & membranes

* Drizzle each half with olive oil and place face down on a baking sheet
* Bake for 45 minutes, until the squash can be easily pierced

* In a skillet over medium heat, add the mushrooms, garlic and a touch of olive oil
* Saute for about 8-10 minutes, until brown
* Add tomatoes and saute for another 5 minutes
* Then add tomato sauce and seasonings, simmer for about 10-15 minutes

* Once your squash is finished, take your fork and rake up each half to create the spaghetti
* Plate the squash, top with the sauce, a little parmesan cheese and serve!

This meal was sooo good!! I even got my picky hubby to eat it ;-) Give a try & let me know what you think.

Manicure Mondays - Inspiration

Hey there, Happy Monday!! Sorry to inform you that I couldn't get my No-Chip Manicure together today. For some reason I had this bright idea of painting my nails this morning before work...not a good idea. First, I couldn't decide on a color. Then once I did, it took forever for my nails to dry, which caused me to arrive at work with smudges. Ugh! It was just an all around bad situation.

So instead of my nails, I decided to share some of my current favorite looks.

I'm such a fan of the brights, pastels & sparkle!! It makes me want to go shopping for a whole new polish collection. What colors are you reaching for this spring?
